I got my shoes yesterday and rode w/ them today. They're a lot lighter than my old pair and have a quickstrap like snowboard bindings for on the fly adjustments. I adjusted them once on the trail after getting them wet riding through a creek. Submerged my crank entirely. Probably not the best thing for a bike. I didn't think it'd be that deep. Anyway, I also got new pedals because I like the look of the eggbeater w/o the platform. $35 on eBay - eggbeater MXR.
The two downhills on Walker Ranch that we rode today were awesome.

Cool shoes, they look comfy, are they? MXR? You shoulda got 4ti man. Those Candy's you had on there were pretty nice but I agree that non platform is cooler. It really doesn't make much difference. Hang on to those candy's, those are nice. Do you know if they're the C's or the SL's?
don't know if they're C's or SL's. The new shoes are comfy. Don't feel like new shoes really. Even tightened down they feel good. I like the velcro more than the laces I was riding with.
