bike frame

hey Curt, what do you think of this frame? ... it's the one I mentioned. GT LTS 2000

I've told a guy I was going to donate it to community cycles, but maybe you'd be interested in building it out? not sure how much it'd cost me to mail it. Anyway, figured I'd have you check it out.

sorry, I haven't checked the blog for a few days.

That frame's lookin pretty old school. From what I can tell it doesn't have disk brake mounts. I'd estimate it's from '97.

If I build another bike it would probably be my old Rocky Mountain that I got repainted.

If you want to build up the old GT I think that would be cool. It would probably be a fun bike to ride and that frame alone gives you a good head start on putting together something unique and eclectic.

Bike assembly really isn't that complicated. I'd be willing to donate some parts. For example I've still got that white Race Face stem that you like. I've also got some Race Face aluminum flat handlebars laying around. I'm guessing that bike takes a 27.2 seatpost. I've got a couple extra of those too. Your Rocky Mountain uses a 26.8 so you wouldn't be able to switch that over.

You could go disk brakes in the front and V-brakes in the back. That would be eclectic. You'd have to get a new front wheel though, that does disk brakes.

I'd lose the GT stickers. It would be cool. I think you should make it your winter project. Bike assembly isn't that tough if you have the tools and you don't let yourself be intimidated by it.

If you decide not to build it you should sell it on ebay before donating it. Why not see if you can get $100-$200 for it?
