White Ranch

Good ride today. A little wet and slick. Still some snow in areas. Lots of rocks and waterbars, so there was a lot of wet back tire spinouts. Overall, it was more than either of us were ready for and the map was confusing at times, so we went the wrong way a few times. There's a network of trails there, so next time we can cut a few parts out and make it more manageable. The pic is of one of the rockier/root sections. Dan's camera ran out of memory. Otherwise there'd be one of me riding down it. Pretty straight forward. Hold on, use the brakes sparingly and keep your cool.

You should make a movie of you going over that.

I think the most telling stat on motionbased is on the elevation page where it tells your ascent or climbing rate per minute. You guys did 21 feet per minute. I did 34. The best I ever got was 38.

The guy who got 7th place in the pro division at the Sea Otter Classic last year did 44. The Sea Otter Classic is a national race so 7th place is pretty damn good.

Looks like your heart rate monitor is working better, except once it spiked over 200.

Mine wigs out sometimes too at the beginning of rides. I think it might be my heart though, adjusting to the sudden change in workload.

My stats blow yours away but in your defense your average ascent grade was 11.1. Mine was 8. The steepest ride I do is Hard Guy at 9%.

There were some steep sections. By the time we were at the top we we didn't have much left. Yeah, you had a good ride. I was comparing your stats w/ ours w/ Dan. Your numbers are impressive. We ran outta steam probably around the 12 mile mark. Neck started hurting, legs burning, you know how it goes. Dan banged his upper ankle pretty good early on which didn't help him.
